Have you ever had an albariño? (al-buh-reen-yo) These wines are typically from Spain, although this particular one was from California. They are typically crisp, fruity, and dry, but with a touch of salt! They are best drank young (meaning, don’t hold on to it for a long time–buy it and drink it quickly!), and you can usually find a really good one for around $20!
Albariños are my go-to wines when ordering from a wine list at a restaurant on the beach. They pair oh so perfectly with fish and oysters, but are also so tasty to just drink alone! The hint of salinity in them also just feels so right with the salty air.
I found this bottle of albariño at the little wine bar that I own, The Stem and Stein, for $21.99.
